CJM F9F-8 Cougar
Century Jet Models’ F9F-8 Cougar is designed from the grass roots to be a high performance turbine aircraft powered by a 18-28 pound turbine. An excellent beginner’s aircraft or a plane for the scale masters. The Cougar can be assembled in approximately 50 hours.
The fuselage comes pre-primed and is constructed using epoxy fiberglass. Lightly sand and apply paint. All major bulkheads and area rule intakes are installed at the factory. Other laser cut parts are provided in the basic kit. A two-piece, 36” long, engine access and cockpit hatch provides easy access and maintenance. The wings and stabs come pre-sheeted. Fiberglass rudders, ailerons, flaps, wing tips, and inboard leading edge section come with the basic kit.
Basic kit includes a one piece fuselage, sheeted wings, aluminum wing spar system, sheeted horizontal foam stabs, area rule intakes installed, fiberglass upper and lower rudders, fiberglass ailerons, fiberglass flaps, fiberglass wing tip, fiberglass leading edge wing root, 2 piece engine/canopy system, canopy, full size CAD plans, and color picture brochure are included.
I would like to thank the people who voluntarily work at the Grumman History Center and the Director of the Naval Museum, Captain Rasmusen, who flew the Cougar as a Blue Angel.
