Our 1/5th scale Sea Fury kit was designed and engineered using scale drawings supplied with the kit. Combining practical RC design and engineering, Century Jet Models has produced a scale aircraft with the modeler in mind starting with a light weight, one piece epoxy fiberglass fuselage encompassing panel lines to a plane that penetrates the sky at scale speeds. The fuselage is constructed using layers of 4 & 6 ounce cloth throughout the fuselage with added layers to provide added strength and vibration resistance for large engines. The fiberglass vertical stab and foam horizontal stabs further reduces weight and building time. A fuselage access hatch provides easy access to the fuel tank, retract fill port, and other accessories. A large engine cowl easily covers the largest of engine-10 inches in diameter. All superbly crafted fiberglass parts come pre-primed.
The four piece foam wing is elliptical with a feather edge cut which eliminates trailing edge wood. The wing is covered with 3/32" balsa with two pieces of 2 ounce cloth encompassing the foam junctions. Two 1/4" AC ply spars are inserted into the foam one of which interlocks with the landing gear block.
Results...a super strong, light-weight, one-piece wing. Giant landing gear with scale or semi-scale struts are inserted into a specially designed landing gear block to provide scale location and movement. A fiberglass radiator cowl center section is attached to the leading edge of the wing.
Three Sea Fury kit versions are available: The basic kit comes with a primed epoxy fiberglass fuselage, vertical stabilator, fiberglass cowl, and pre-molded accessory hatch, fiberglass wing cooling center section, elliptical foam wings, foam horizontal stabilators, aluminum tube, canopy, detailed instructions and full size plans, 3 view drawings, and spinner. The deluxe kit comes with the above items plus a laser wood package, wood package, accessory package, cockpit, metal tiller arms, pull-pull cables, bolts, nuts, snap-on door mounting brackets plus much more. To top off your kit, select either "scale" or semi-scale giant landing gear and tail wheel. Other options such as their scale 5 bladed fiberglass prop and fiberglass spinner, metal gear doors, and scale, functional metal exhaust system are available.
